Things to Know about In-Person Worship at Hosanna!

As an expression of love and care for one another, all attending in-person worship agree to abide by the following:

  • Wear a face mask at all times, even when singing, unless exempt according to Clay County health guidelines

  • Maintain 6 feet distance from those not part of their household.  Seating in the sanctuary will be adjusted to facilitate this.

  • Limiting in-person attendance to 50 people.  Please reserve a space (or multiple spaces for your whole household) if you plan to attend.  If your circumstances change, you will have the option to cancel your reservation.

What will be different?

  • Entry to the building will take place through the front door, where worshipers will be greeted, sanitize their hands, pick up a bulletin, and be seated.  (Although done some public places, we will not be conducting temperature checks for a variety of reasons, including their limited helpfulness in screening for COVID-19.)

  • Alternatives to using hymnals, passing offering plates, signing attendance pads, and sharing the peace with handshakes will be utilized.

  • Doors will remain open to minimize commonly touched surfaces.

  • Holy Communion will be distributed row-by-row at the end of the service, using sanitary methods.

  • Worshipers will depart after receiving Communion.

  • We will not serve food or gather in groups in the fellowship hall.

  • Commonly touched surfaces will be sanitized after the service (and possibly more frequently).

When Not to Attend:

  • Out of an abundance of caution, we ask you to remain at home if you may have been near someone who has tested positive with COVID-19 in the past 14 days or if you are experiencing any of these symptoms (even if you don't think they are COVID-19):

    • fever or chills,

    • cough,

    • shortness of breath or difficulty breathing,

    • fatigue,

    • muscle or body aches,

    • headache,

    • new loss of taste or smell,

    • sore throat,

    • congestion or runny nose,

    • nausea or vomiting,

    • diarrhea.

  • We encourage those for whom COVID-19 might be potentially life-threatening due to other health risks to remain at home and join us for worship online.  We believe God cares for our physical health as much as our spiritual health; there is no guilt in ensuring your wellbeing.

What might change our plans:

  • We anticipate continuing to hold in-person worship unless our Clay County or Kansas City, Missouri health departments advise otherwise or Liberty Public Schools cancel in-person classes.

  • Our ability to continue holding in-person worship will be based on our ability to abide by this concern for each other.
