Receive a Bible
Each fall, we present age-appropriate Bibles to children at a variety of ages. ​We believe that the stories of the Bible not only tell us about the faithful people of the past, but they help us experience God's love and learn how God acts in our own lives today. We also believe God's love isn't just for us, but for anyone, so we are happy to share these Bibles with kids beyond the congregation!​

If you're regularly attending Hosanna, we already know about your kid, and will have Bibles ready for them. Pastor Mike will reach out to you in early September to let you know we have a Bible ready for them.

If you've never joined us before, or haven't been around much, we still want to give your child a Bible. We want to make sure we have enough Bibles on hand and check in with you so that your kid feels comfortable joining the others up front to receive one. Please fill out this online form if you'd like a Bible so that we know to expect you!
Join us for worship on our Rally​​ Day, Sunday, September 8 at 9:30am to receive your Bible. You're also welcome to stick around for the meal and activities! ​Details are under the announcements on our Home Page.

​Here are the Bibles we give to kids:

1-year Anniversary of Baptism - Frolic First Bible - a board book picture Bible

4 Years Old - Spark Story Bible - a story Bible that covers the many, many stories of the Bible with words and pictures that engage young kids

2nd Grade - The Action Bible - a Bible that looks and reads like a comic book

6th Grade - The Guidebook NRSV Study Bible - a full Bible filled with helpful and understandable introductions, explanations, notes, maps, and other resources

Your child is welcome to receive a Bible, even if they are a year or two older than when we typically give them out.

We don't make a big deal about giving out Bibles to adults in the way we do with the kids, but we're happy to give you one if you'd like one. What we give to adults is am NRSV (New Revised Standard Version) Bible without the notes. If you'd like to pick up your own Bible with some more resources, we highly recommend the Guidebook NRSV Study Bible or the Lutheran Study Bible. ​

Donate a Bible
Kids have an amazing faith, and it is a joy to share God’s love with them!
If you would enjoy sponsoring one or more of these Bibles, you may do so in one of these ways:

Pick up an envelope in the fellowship hall for the kind of Bible you’d like to sponsor. Place the listed funds inside the envelope and drop it in the offering plate or the basket by the envelopes.
We hope to give out 20-25 Bibles in 2024. Thanks for your help!

Share your favorite Bible passage.
We present youth in 6th grade, and who may be entering confirmation classes, with an NRSV Bible full of information and resources. However, the Bible is profoundly personal and is best when it is shared. Therefore, we’re asking you to let us know your favorite Bible story or passage. When we present these Bibles to our youth, we’ll have these passages highlighted so that our love and faith may point them to the things that are meaningful to us.
