Blue Christmas - December 21
This has been an especially tough year. This service on the longest night of the year is here for you to name your feelings, share them with God, and hear a Word of hope in the promise of God's nearness through Jesus.
We're not asking anyone to comment that they are present for this service, but know that as you join this worship, you are not alone.
Having Trouble with the Video?
Video playing, but can't hear anything? Check that the volume on your device is turned up. If that doesn't help, click the speaker button at the bottom of the video if there is a line through it. Also, make sure the volume slider is all the way up.
Video not working at all? Close your web browser (and maybe even restart your computer/device), and come back again. You can also try watching the video on our YouTube page.
Still not getting it to work? Call the church office at 816-781-7991, leave a message if we don't answer, and we'll assist you as soon as we are able. If online video isn't a good fit for you, we can provide you with a DVD of the service each week to watch on your TV.
Feeling blue? There's hope.
During this season, there's pressure to feel happy and bright, changes in our lives that make this year feel different than the past, and just a whole lot going on. It's natural to have mixed emotions. Visit our Feelings page to get connected with resources for dealing with these feelings throughout the year and especially during the holidays.
If you're struggling right now and would like to talk to someone to name your specific feelings and sort through them, Pastor Mike is available to meet with you in person, online, or by phone. Call the church office (816-781-7991) or e-mail Pastor Mike at firstname.lastname@example.org at anytime to find a time to talk.
Join us on Christmas Eve:
Online Worship Service: Our Christmas Eve worship will be online, available here beginning at 4:00pm on Dec. 24. Though different this year, worship will be filled with meaningful traditions, special music, and the voices of our church family to create a holy space and time this Christmas. Pick up a “God is born right here” candle from the bin outside the church building front doors to light during this service.
Holy Night Candlelight: Join us Dec. 24 at 8:00pm for a short parking lot candlelight gathering. This is intended to be a supplement to the online worship service, and won’t involve the whole traditional Christmas worship experience. We’ll simply read the Christmas story, say a prayer, and sing Silent Night together. You will have the option to remain in your car or gather with a mask and distance in the vineyard. Audio will be broadcast to your car via the radio. Real and electronic candles will be provided.
If you are new to Hosanna:
We are so glad that you've joined us for worship! You are welcome to join us for worship online every Sunday at 9:30.
We also have a lot of other ministries and resources going on that you are welcome to join. Take a look around our website and see what connects for you.
